Japan - Jan domestic corporate goods price index

In Jan, the domestic corporate goods price index (DPI) rose 0.3%, month-on-month, and 2.7%, year-on-year – see table 1. Inflationary pressure at the producers’ level was mainly due to rising commodity prices. However, as the low base effects gradually lapse in 2018, the rise in DPI should moderate in the coming months – see figure 1.
