Japan – Nov Current Account

In Nov, Japan’s current account registered a surplus of 1.44 trillion Yen – see figure 1. The goods account registered a small trade deficit as both exports and imports plunged – see table 1. With a small recovery in global demand accompanying by a weak domestic demand, Japan’s current account surplus should stay in the range of 1-2 trillion Yen in 2020.
