Hong Kong – Jun Retail Sales

In Jun 2020, retail sales plunged 24.8% from a year ago – see figure 1. All types of retail categories, with the exception of supermarkets and fuels, sustained a contraction in sales – see table 1. In Jan to Jun 2020, retail sales plunged by 33.3% compared with a year ago. Retail sales are expected to continue weakening in the next couple of months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
