US – Jun Trade Balance

On a month-on-month basis, US trade balance fell 6.2% to US$79.6 bln in Jun (figure 1). Exports rose 1.7% to US$260.8 bln, while imports slipped by 0.3% to US$340.4 bln. The exports of goods increased by 2% to US$183 bln, supported mainly by a 6.5% growth in the exports of industrial supplies and materials. On the other hand, the imports of goods fell by 0.5% to US$282.5 bln in Jun, mainly due to a 8.0% fall in the imports of automotive vehicles, parts & engines.


On a year-on-year basis, the trade balance, exports and imports increased by 11.6%, 22.8% and 20% respectively.
