In Jun 2026, employment in the manufacturing sector decreased by 0.2% month-on-month but increased by 1.2% year-on-year, reaching 2.4 mln persons (figure 1). Employment in the domestic-oriented and export-oriented industries grew by 1.8% and 0.4% year-on-year, respectively.

The average salary per employee rose by 1.9% year-on-year to RM3,547.
