In the recent Johor state elections, Barisan Nasional (BN) won 48 seats and Pakatan Harapan (PH) 8 seats. A total of 2.727 mln registered voters were eligible to cast their ballots in deciding the 56 state seats. The voter turnout rate was 69.6% or 1.897 mln voters.

Europe is the world's fastest-warming continent, and its summers are getting more extreme with each passing year. MetMalaysia said the 2026–2027 Super El Nino could rank among the most extreme events ever recorded, with temperatures exceeding 40°C. Malaysia should take MetMalaysia's warnings seriously and prepare well in advance to ensure that the country is not caught off guard.
