Malaysia – Aug Manufacturing Employment

In Aug, employment in the manufacturing sector slipped 0.1%, month-on-month, but rose 1.9%, year-on-year, to 1.074 mln persons – see figure 1. The domestic- and export-oriented industries registered growth of 2.4% and 1.5% in employment respectively.

The average salary per employee in Aug increased 7.7%, year-on-year, to RM3,606.
